When I was in rescue, the two MOST PAINFUL runs I was a part of were, one: extensive serious burns (17-yr old mowing the lawn, the fuel somehow caught fire and he reflexively threw the can up into the air and it fell back onto him. I will NEVER forget that transport) and the second was a kidney stone -- grown man, larger than average, horrible agony, crying with it.

Wishing for the best for dau. If it is a stone, maybe the worst is over now?

It's definitely a stone - showed up on CT. They say it's small, so it should pass. She's done this before, but not in the last 10 years or so.

This AM's pain is different. Down lower, more nausea, more intense, but not constant. It's probably at the uretero-vesical junction (where ureter meets bladder). Hopefully it'll be done today.

I've had two stones. Miserable experience.

          Beer. Lots of beer.

At least that's what a Jewish surgeon told me.

After all, surgeons are doctors. Aren't they?😄

A neighbour of mine once described the pain of stones and how small they may be in contrast. After his second he ate an orange every day. Fit chap, worked full time till he was well over 70 and part-time till he was nearly 90.
