You think Joe Manchin might be just a little bit hopeful?

If something happened (and I hope Leahy has a long and wonderful retirement), the Vermont governor is a typical NE Republican, mostly a RINO. I suspect whoever he appoints would be similar.

Because of Vermont law, a special election would be held in six months to fill the seat.

But for six months, the Republicans would control the Senate.

      Wouldn't that be interesting?

Carle issued a statement Tuesday night indicating that Leahy had been discharged from the hospital. "After getting test results back, and after a thorough examination, Senator Leahy now is home. He looks forward to getting back to work," the statement said.

Is that a Ginsburg "looking forward to getting back to work"?

Pelosi is in her 80's, Leahy is in his 80's, Feinstein is in her latter 80's. Isn't it time to go home?

The list is out of date.

But nobody has any business in the Senate or House in their 80's. Nobody.

I agree. There are obviously people who are very active, both in body and brain, in their 80s, but if the job is done properly, it is very difficult and stressing to be in the Congress.

                    Same with Supreme Court.
