Finding COVID Vaccine Locations - A Study in Stupidity...
-
I've been using several sites to ascertain where I might get a vaccine. Here's some fun things about the sites.
The State of Illinois asks you for your zip code - and how far you'd be willing to go to obtain a vaccine - presumably to limit your choices.
- No - it still shows every location in the state so you have to review a zillion sites.
Walgreens offers the vaccine - and after a bit of misdirection, you finally get to a place where you can make an appointment. Does it show you locations and dates/times near you that you can obtain a vaccination?
- No, instead they have you go to each pharmacy - and then for each date you must select a time - at which point it tells you that time does not work. So if there are a dozen locations in a 10 mile radius, and seven days of appointments, you only have to click through several score of dates/times for every location. A great use of one's time.
A wee bit frustrating.

@kluurs my experience has been the same.
However, our docs at the university and our former primary's place have emailed saying they'll let us know when available. Also, there's a location you can register for as well:

My mother got her first shot today. I just called last week and made an appointment. Her insurance is with Kaiser Permanente, but I was told that anyone (member or no) could set up an appointment because this is a federal program and not a Kaiser one. Maybe you could call Kaiser if you have one near you.
