There go the GOP state legislatures back to trying their hands at voter suppression again.
“Some Republican officials have been blunt about their motivations: They don’t believe they can win unless the rules change. “They don’t have to change all of them, but they’ve got to change the major parts of them so that we at least have a shot at winning,” Alice O’Lenick, a Republican on the Gwinnett County, Ga., board of elections in suburban Atlanta, told the Gwinnett Daily Post last week.”

"Voter ID laws are usually very popular among the general public — a 2018 Pew Research poll found that three-quarters of Americans surveyed supported laws requiring voters to present a photo ID — but activists say they are problematic for several disparate groups of voters."
How does this "disparate group of voters" buy liquor, open a bank account, buy cigarettes, get food stamps, apply for Medicaid, rent an apartment, rent a car, fly, buy a cellphone, go fishing, donate blood, buy Nuquil?

I have long been in favor of IQ-type testing to establish eligibility to vote. I've even come up with a system to achieve this. It is IMO very doable with computers.
The test would be very simple. But if you can't answer questions like: Our laws are laid out in a particular document. What is that document called? Or, the US is bound by two oceans. Name the oceans. Or, what are the three branches of government? Then you need to go back home.

And here comes Trump...
Wonder why he disbanded his election integrity commission when he was President.

Well you could just google it but the better question is how does this play into the impeachment trial.

I am one of the 75% that agree with this.

Me too. You should have a burden to prove you are who you are. I can’t believe you can survive in this country without at least that.

“VoteRiders estimated that up to 25 million voting-age Americans lacked a government-issued photo ID.”
Yeah, I call BS on that. I watched a video one time of a right wing activist asking blacks on the street about their ID and how difficult it was to vote and they all were, well, basically insulted. Every one of them had ID of some form. I realize this could be a slanted presentation but seriously, it is not difficult to get ID and it would be a great idea to require the Federal or State gov'ts to provide free ID for voting an all other ID purposes.
