Hopefully not, but so far responses in defense of Taiwan have been good.
This weekend, a US aircraft carrier group entered the South China Sea. Now I realize this probably was planned earlier, but it could have been canceled and was not.
Statement from the US NSA this weekend said that the commitment to Taiwan was “rock solid” and that the US looks forward to increased “ties” with Taiwan.
Of course, talk is cheap so actions in the future are the real test.
