Anyone have any experience with hydroponics?

The idea of having lettuce, herbs, etc growing all the time with little hassle is appealing.

Yes, it's a little bit weird because the "y" is pronounced like "I", but the rest of the letters are pronounced phonetically.
Maybe you can try hydrophonics. There are many variations of this, one is trying to answer your interrogator’s questions while being waterboarded, and many people in their early childhood experienced the version where you talk and drool at the same time, but more commonly for adults it’s just talking with a lot of concurrent spitting.

Disney does, 2.5 million square feet of it.
There is a thrilling ride in Epcot that takes you through some hydroponics.Actually, it might be most boring ride ever. I just checked and it is apparently still running, I figured it might be gone by now.

My daughter has an Aerogarden. It is quite prolific, but you have to keep buying their pods as far as I know. You need to harvest fairly frequently as they grow pretty fast. I tried growing herbs with an indoor light last spring and summer but it just did not work out well.
