Says GOP governor of Maryland.
I posted about this a day and a half ago with a link to the press release video.
I watched that. He wasn’t pleased.

Let’s see what the facts bear out. So far there is just the assumption of guilt, everyone seems to just know already. Democracy in threat much?
Exactly.
Jesus Christ I watched the press conference and you both didn't. I don't presume to "just know," I'm literally recounting the details of the press conference to people who didn't watch it themselves.

My point was on a broader scale.
But to you point, I do believe Hogan got involved and was “delayed” for 90 minutes. What happened for 90 minutes we don’t know. Was it Trump’s orders to not intervene, was it a lawyer who said you can’t do that, was it several people checking with each other for authority?

If you believe Hogan, at the press conference you didn't listen to, it's that no one at the white house was prepared to mobilize the National Guard. That's why the confusing phone calls. He was getting pressure from congressmen to get involved but Sec.Def. wasn't even organized well enough to coordinate with MD.
Now if you wish to not believe any or part of that, maybe actually watch the thing so you know what you're even objecting to.

I’ll wait to hear the Pentagon version actually and Hogan at the same time.

You can be helpful if you tell me about DC and the ability to deploy the national guard from another state and who has that authority by law.

I can tell you. It was covered several times in the press conference you didn't watch but feel more than comfortable commenting on. As a matter of fact I posted a link to it in its own thread about a day ago, and in part I had you in mind when I did, because you claimed to be so interested in the details of the response. I promise you they cover what you're asking about.

Ok. I listened to it. 200 specially trained MD state police were sent right away. During the 90 minutes, the MD national guard was mobilized, he didn’t say how long that would take but sounds like most of the 90 minutes preparing would have been consumed anyway doing just that. Hogan also said he had no idea what the delay was for. Did I get that right, what am I missing?

So what? There could be a lot of reasons for how that went. Does Maryland’s governor have standing to send troops into DC? DC has it's own NG unit under control of the president. They might also have been concerned with escalation.
No, he doesn't have standing to just do it. The "so what" is that he was on the phone with a congressman who was begging him to send in soldiers because quite obviously the president didn't make the call to send in DC's NG. You know it was Pence who finally did so, right?
The governor was on hold with the Sec. Def. to get authorization. Nothing for 90 minutes. Then he gets another call from some other department entirely, completely unaware the governor was trying to coordinate with Sec. Def. They actually tried to brief the governor and asked if he could send in MD NG right away. Hogan said "No shit. Yes we're ready."
That's so what. The president dropped the ball and caused a clusterfuck. Pence picked it back up.
Nothing for 90 minutes you say. But Hogan was mobilizing. Do we know if the 90 minutes caused any actual delay of national guard arriving?

Fair enough. Also, I thought you and Loki were commenting on what was going on here, not with as Loki put it the broader issue. I definitely misunderstood the conversation.

The Maryland National Guard consisting of 500 troops arrived at 10:00 am the NEXT morning.
So what is the real point of the news?? To help the Capitol??? DC national guard of 1100 was deployed at 3:50 pm day of. That timeline is more interesting.
