Sorry George. There is no comparable figure in any of the other riots. At least not notable figures. They were more Hayekian.

    This one had an architect.

It’s not about presiding over a period of loss, but about inciting violence that then caused the loss.

Great, now you just need to prove (or at least show) causation by specific speeches (“incitement’s”) to specific losses, just like whoever wants to sue Trump over the Capitol riot has to do in court.

Let them take all the evidence and arguments to the courts, let the courts sort them out.

I wonder if that was behind his lying in the first 20s of his last video statement.

Talk to Mayor Ted Wheeler about that.
            Talk to Governor Kate Brown
            Talk to Governor Jay Inslee
And, most relevant, talk to Future Vice President Elect Harris.

All of them did nothing to stop the damage and loss, in the millions of their cities. All of them presided over the loss of life in their cities.

And Future Vice President Elect Harris encouraged it.

In any of the riots in the summer, is there a single person you can point about whom it could be said “but for his actions this wouldn’t have happened”.

This wouldn’t be something society would do, it would individuals and families harmed as a result of his actions.

The fact that all the violence that was wreaked on our cities this summer was encouraged by the media and politicians like Soon-to-be-president Harris doesn't strike you as a bit problematic?

Ted Wheeler of Portland encouraged the Antifa violence, trying to join the protest, until he was attacked.

AOC "occupied" Speaker Pelosi's office with a gaggle of protestors. That was cool then, right? Why wasn't she arrested?

                      And now, you're upset?

That doesn't smack of ignorance, it smacks of hypocrisy.

Jon's argument that it's POTUS is simply a matter of price degree. I just cited two elected officials who encouraged breaking the law, and earlier Harris's explicit call for more violence.

I'm not justifying, by any means, what happened in the Capitol. I'm surprised at the outrage, because it was the other tribe.

                      No, actually, I'm not.

Nope. That’s about criminal liability. A much higher bar.

                          Good point.

Now, how about Wheeler, et al?

                          Who has standing to sue?

"Standing" seems to be the, ahem, standard by which cases can be brought to court.

I am confident that the Office of POTUS carries sufficient E&O insurance to cover civil liability claims of this nature.
