    Ravel uses these chords with 9th all the time, and even moves them in parallel; here, in the Pavane.

    I can't help but wonder what Bach would have thought about that.

        Ravel has nothing on Wagner. I can't help what Bach would have thought of waiting 15 hours to hear a series of dimVII chords finally resolve in Wagner's Ring Cycle.
