I’ve already been clear on this point. These people need to go to jail. Domestic Terrorism charges are completely appropriate. There’s also the whole “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes” aspect of this. I’m surprised more people weren’t shot.
I’m also surprised that there were no crowd suppression measures taken. That’s all I am saying.

Right? Keep in mind the Vice President was in the building. I'm a little surprised the secret service didn't open up on the crowd with machine guns.

Surely if a crowd had done that to the White House they would have been met with a hail of automatic weapon fire.

Yeah, me too. It seems to me that the initial response was insufficient to cope with the threat posed, for whatever reason.

I nominate this as the least controversial post in the history of TNCR.

Tons of people are looking into this, starting yesterday. I don't buy the completely predictable racism narrative but I'd sure like to know what went wrong.

Which is also a valid point.
My question is did someone want this to happen?

"Members and staff were at risk"
"That mob that was trying to get through that door left"
"His actions saved lives"
From a GOP Congressman who witnessed it and had spoken to the cop that took the shot. Watch the whole thing.

And Antifa was bitching about rubber bullets and tear gas...
Surely one must take into consideration whether the mob is attacking the Capital Building fully staffed or an empty Old Navy.

I assume you mean besides Trump?
I don't think Trump thought that far.
Now, wipe the shit-eating grin off of your face and seriously address the question...

John Sullivan, recorded a video of the aftermath, showing police with guns drawn and Babbitt lying in a pool of blood in a stairway inside the Capitol.
Sullivan is the founder of the left-wing activist group Insurgence USA. He said he was not at the Capitol as part of the protest but did not specify what exactly brought him there.
Describing the moments leading up to the shooting, Sullivan said protesters were trying to get into the main entrance of the chamber when they came upon two guards who refused to move.
The group then went down another hallway and used flag poles and other items to break windows to get into the chamber before a group of police emerged.
'All we see is these guns coming out of the doorway, just guns, and all you can see is their hands. You could not see faces,' he said.
'Right when I saw that I was yelling to people: 'Guys, there is guns, you don't want to go through there. They're going to shoot.''
Babbitt ignored Sullivan's plea and went ahead anyway, he said.
The obvious question is, what was Sullivan doing there to begin with?

Attempting to save lives, apparently.

Its a legitimate question. And it wasn't to save lives.

The same reason President Trump supporters would show up at BLM protests, etc.
To cause problems.
Care to explain that?

@jolly for example, let us say that there is a meeting of 100 very very devout President Trump supporters.
And you show up with a President elect Biden Tshirt and hat.
What do you think the response would be? What reason would you have to go there? Probably because you are trying to “bait” the other side
There is no good reason to be there other than to try and cause an issue.
