@horace what specific blitzkrieg is Trump reacting to?

Yes - many people have often compromised their own values and previous political positions to just go against Trump. I think this is what “TDS” boils to.

But what specific assaults, beyond op-eds in WaPo and being shat on by celebrities, are you referring to that help contextualize his current behavior?

You want me to put into a few concise words the broad scale cultural warfare Trump has been the target of? You need to be convinced of that? Man, I lived through it. I could never have remained viable as a productive social element at my job if I'd have been as outspoken a Trump supporter as many of my colleagues (and bosses) were of being a Trump hater.

Again, an inability to accept losing is part of Trump's character, and is regrettable. But IMO it will prove ineffectual and he will go away, thus not establishing any worrisome precedent. I understand it looks petulant and whiny.

Right, but - you fail to ascribe any of the “cultural blowback” to Trump. You complain that people have been throwing feces at him - in an unprecedented manner (maybe true). But you fail to mention he’s had his dick out spraying them in the face with piss.

I happen to agree with his most contentious platform which made him win - the righteous politically correct bias of our media sources and the divergence from reality they propagated. So he pissed on all of that, and the blowback by the cultural power structure was what it could be expected to be.

You can be against wokeism and not be Trump.

But Trump was the politician we were presented with a choice for.

You can reasonably vote for him, be aligned with his policies and still call him a piece of shit when he’s being a piece of shit.

I don’t think anything justifies his fucked up behavior after the election. Doesn’t matter that I agree on certain policy or cultural issues with him.

I call it regrettable. It certainly plays to his haters. I do believe it will be a nothing burger, playing to his detriment in time if not already. I don't feel like calling him a piece of shit, sorry.

Nope, anybody that rubbed their hands in glee at Russia! Russia! Russia, while knowing there was nothing to it, is nothing more than a partisan hack.

In fact, they are worse than a partisan hack. These people have allowed hate for the individual to be placed ahead of the rule of law and what is best for the country. At this point, I would never trust them to do what is honorable or right, not if it meant furthering a political agenda...

Russia Russia Russia was Hillary’s playbook from the beginning. Some hack was hired to write a fake dossier and that became the overriding obsession for this country for four years. And now suddenly our country is threatened. Jesus.

But China, nothing to see here.

You obsessing over a dossier doesn‘t mean the rest of the country did too. You pretend a dosseir is the only thing that implicates Russia but it is not.

Russia did interfere with the 2016 election, officially acknowledged as much in multiple US government investigations and reports, including one produced by the Senate Intelligene Committee led by Republicans. Go read that report, it cited a lot more evidence than the a single dossier.

It is believable that China tried too, but don‘t just throw the name “China” and just assume that it happened. Show some credible evidence and then maybe it will taken more seriously.

The big one you skipped over is Ukraine. Ukraine is the one referenced in the article of impeachment, not Russia. Ukraine is the only issue getting support from the Democrats’ leadership to go against Trump. There are inveitigagive reports, audio recordings (some released by Trump himself), and sworn public testimony by witnesses. Trump deserves all the flack he got for the Ukraine debacle, and that’s that one you choose not to mention.

I recall Russia's interference was about leveraging our racism narratives with fake facebook accounts, getting people all riled up. Now, who's responsible for America's infatuation with this racism narrative and its impunity against reliable facts and statistics?

            There’s an important distinction here.

If you’re having an argument within your family - one member may use argument X. Now if your neighbor starts mailing over envelopes containing “evidence” of argument X, then you tell the neighbor to fuck off.

Back to the broader point. When you start justifying bad actions of people today based on historical wrongs (let’s say Trump was wronged) - you end up in BLM territory.

The most important point is that both sides behaved really badly and nullify themselves. It’s two children fighting both of whom just need to go to their room until they can behave. TDS saying God is on their side is just bullshit.

Some pee dossier is bought by Hillary and next thing you comey is telling Trump and Mueller is investigating. That’s our last four years, the seeds of. And the rest is BS built on a foundation of BS.

Actually the dossier has become overriding obsession of right wing websites over the past 3 years or so.

You seem to fall into the trap, almost ubiquitous on the right, of confusing the dossier with the Russia investigation itself. You really should at least skim the executive summary of Meuller’s report.

Russia Russia Russia was Hillary’s playbook from the beginning. Some hack was hired to write a fake dossier and that became the overriding obsession for this country for four years.

Actually the dossier has become overriding obsession of right wing websites over the past 3 years or so.

You seem to fall into the trap, almost ubiquitous on the right, of confusing the dossier with the Russia investigation itself. You really should at least skim the executive summary of Meuller’s report.

Jon, do you honestly not know any better than that? Good grief guy.

                              He does. He doesn't care.

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton
