      They thought they did everything right. The beautician was in the the pre-symptomatic stage and already shedding virus. The test (most likely rapid)was most likely negative due to one of two factors:

      1. Not enough antigen to be detected at the time of testing. Or...
      2. Poor sampling technique. Just because somebody collects and runs a test, doesn't mean they do a decent job. COVID requires a deep nasal swab. If you don't go far enough, you get a lousy specinen and you can get false negatives.
