She's also a smoker, so maybe she figured the hotel would have a problem with her heavy smoking. Still, that doesn't make her look any better.
On the plus side for him, he probably could get room service for meals, watch what he wanted on TV for a change, have fresh towels galore and a clean robe, and not have to smell her stale cigarettes everywhere in the room.
Okay, now I'll read the rest of the article. I got to the line about her smoking, and had to post. Yes, I m bad, but reading that he has been breathing her second hand smoke for years made me wonder if he wanted a break from being surrounded by it.
Aha, she told him he couldn't come home. Wow.
Maybe he'll decide to do that permanently.
