Watching a PBS show about six women who had been in the German concentration camps and what they went thru after liberation. Itwas often not much better than the camps. They all made their way to the US and built lives.

I look at their attitudes and strength and contrast that with those today who think it too much a burden to wear a mask for a few months and I just want to cry.

War and catastrophe bring out both the best and worst in humans. A world with few serious challenges, like today, triggers allergic immune response.

I have long wondered if we have war because we, as a species, need it.

Our threat response system is many, many ages older than our frontal lobe. Violence of that sort is an evolutionary hangover, I think; a result of civilizing ourselves before evolution caught up.

              Please love yourself.
