D2 went to get bloodwork done today, on Dr. orders, just to be sure nothing else is lurking.

I don’t think she marked no, I think she crossed it out.

So the “ yes” was visible.

Except that makes no sense with the temperature answer.

And, they sent her right to the lab, as if there were no "yes" marked.

Standard CDC screening questions. Probably noted whether she had a mask, and if she didn't, offered her one. And made her wear it. Lots of times the door screeners are not nursing personnel, they're pulling them from other departments within the hospital, so they can give them some hours and not lay them off.

And yep, the surface thermometers are a joke. You can defeat them either way, through blowing A/C on your face or your car's heater.

Anyway, we're so used to people lying, it's no biggie, one way or the other. Not at this point.

One of the really unsung heroes of this whole mess are the phlebotomists. For $13/hr in many cases, these guys are drawing blood or doing nasal swabs on some very sick patients for antigens and drawing antibody levels on recovering patients. Along with the usual fun goodies like strep or flu swabs.

Our guys are working with a combo of N95 + surgical mask. They can't breathe worth a damn, but they feel a little safer. Still can't get but one of each per day, though...At least they've gotten past putting their masks in paper bags to use the next day...

@Jolly yep jolly. You are right. A lot of people doing great work that is not as appreciated as much as it should be.

(A completely different note, I was reading an article that either North or South Dakota was asking for nurses, and with overtime, they could make US$10,000 per week!!!!)
