I very much doubt that Oxford University delayed announcing their vaccine in order to lavish praise on Joe Biden.

I realize that many Americans believe that the freaking universe revolves around Washington DC, but really chaps....get a grip on yourselves, if you haven't done so already.

And if the American drug companies did delay in this manner, it might be worth pondering why they would do such a thing, other than being part of a global conspiracy secretly funded by George Soros. Because if George Soros is secretly behind the vaccine, I tip my hat to him!

    I was only joking

I’ll try all of them, what the hell,

      90 plus 95 plus 95 = 280% efficacy. What could go wrong?

Quite frankly I could care less about the past, what I want to see is a strategy and pressure to get everyone the vaccine as soon as possible. I’m astounded I am either an outlier or too stupid to understand why the news isn’t running with this, big time. Instead we see a death count and the death of democracy. Wtf.

@Jolly hopefully President Trump already has a plan that has been detailed out. And hopefully President elect Biden will use that and build on that to maximize the speed of the vaccine to people

The plan, or at least the gist of one, has been in place for several weeks. Trump has tasked the military with transporting the vaccine. As for storage and innoculation, I do not know.

Random sample - FWIW (because I’m familiar with it):

The Daily is a podcast by the NYT. Picks one story from the day and does a 20 min episode on it.

Over the last 10 days, 5 episodes have been about COVID. The other 5 have been about election, and a smattering of other topics.

Another datapoint: my Canadian parents. They’re super worried about COVID now, and they don’t even have a Trump.

Participants in Moderna and Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine trials told CNBC in September that they were experiencing high fever, body aches, bad headaches, daylong exhaustion and other symptoms after receiving the shots. While the symptoms were uncomfortable, and at times intense, the participants said they often went away after a day, sometimes sooner, and that it was better than getting Covid-19.''

I don't see any statistics on how many people experienced this, or percentages. This quote seems to indicate this is widespread.

“If this proves to work, people are going to have to toughen up,” she said. “The first dose is no big deal. And then the second dose will definitely put you down for the day for sure. ... You will need to take a day off after the second dose.”

                                    A word from President Obama:

“Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f**k things up,” said Obama. He also reportedly told him “You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t” regarding a possible 2020 bid. When the former VP threw his hat in the ring, Obama’s team was apparently very stern with the Biden crew, ensuring that the vice president didn’t embarrass himself or tarnish the Obama legacy with his antics (via CBS 19):

"Now look here, you Baltic gas passer... " - Mik, 6/14/08

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Well I know which one I'd choose, meanwhile my wife (a biochemist) keeps on saying she has concerns about both.

Probably the first world will be looking to Pfizer; developing countries get second choice.
