Rudy had claimed that Dominion was owned by Smartmatic which had Venezuelan connections, but I'd read elsewhere that Smartmatic was actually a competitor of Dominion.
It's hard to make sense of any of these claims. It's not clear at all what's true, but Rudy's attacks so far have been pretty farcical, so it could easily be the case that there is no connection to Venezuela.

It's AP news, so take it for what it's worth. Most of the sites claiming Dominion is Venezuelan appear to be more commentary than actual news - I'm being polite, here.

Smartmatic was founded by two Venezuelans and has had technology controversies. Here is their last wiki page before post-election editing began, Seems like minimal usage in the US and no relation to Dominion is mentioned.
Maybe Rudy and Sidney just liked this backstory better, so they decided to apply it to dominion?

Why are team Trump beating on Dominion in the first place? Is it just because the guy in MI who made the 6k vote input error did so on a dominion machine?
Like, if he’d had made the error on a ESS machine, would they suddenly have been founded by Soros and Hugo Chavez instead?

I have to say, independent of whether you believe the claims or not, Rudy is not doing a very impressive job of making a case.
I don't really understand why Trump wouldn't pick somebody who was better at looking good.

I think you are correct, but there would have been a different conspiracy theory. C0smored was much fun but little did we know that this person was the canary in the coal mine for how our country — or at least our media and social media would be dominated since the run up to 2016.
Something about the ingredients of a conspiracy are the accelerant for information dissemination on our platforms. Real news just ain’t no competition. I don’t think AI will achieve consciousness it will just change it.

Real news might be competition if A) it was factual, unbiased news and B)You could actually trust it.
