I'm not defending any of that stupid shit.
Sadly, quite a few people here are defending this stupid shit.
And, it has to be said, the Leader of the Free World is creating the stupid shit.

Trump: I think Democrats cheated.
Media: THIS IS UNPRECEDENTED.And there you go.
We've listened to this shit for
fourtwenty years. And now, just now, people are outraged?
GMAFB. This is what we've been dealing with for the last two decades, and only now people are outraged?
Could it be because (hang onto your seat) it's politically expedient?

There was a fair amount of it prior to 2000 if memory serves. I know that legally Bill Clinton wasn't impeached for cheating on his wife and lying about it, but basically he was impeached for cheating on his wife and lying about it.
What a fucking waste of time and money that was.

The scariest thing was watching the reactions on social media during this episode.
It’s striking how many of our fellow countrymen would happily toss out a centuries-old tradition of democracy on the slimmest of pretexts just so that Donald Trump can stay in office for four more years.

What an odd way to look st things. Perhaps if you would broaden your range of news sources you'd have a better understanding of things than you do now. Because based on what you wrote you obviously don't know what's coming in the next couple of weeks. As for "tossing out a centuries old tradition of democracy - well... That's just plain ignorance. You're trying to hang what the democrats have done around republicans necks. The ones tossing out a centuries old tradition of democracy is not the republicans, it's the democrats.
Vote by mail is not a century old tradition of democracy, for example. It is just the opposite, and it has a long, long history of corruption., as does the democrat party. Whats amazing to me is that so many happily support Biden Knowing the damage Biden plans to do.

"Trump campaign drops Michigan ballot lawsuit"
"Those two GOP members now say they want to rescind their votes [to certify the ballot count]." -
“Trump invites GOP Michigan lawmakers to White House ...”
Maybe they will talk about how the federal government can help Michigan manage the COVID-19 pandemic?
-
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-idUSKBN2800I5
“Michigan’s state legislative leaders, Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House Speaker Lee Chatfield, both Republicans, will visit the White House at Trump’s request, ...”
And it looks like the topic won’t be how to manage the COVID-19 pandemic after all.
-
NYT: "Observers said that Trump appeared to be aiming at having Republican legislatures intervene and appoint pro-Trump electors in states Joe Biden won, throwing the Electoral College to the president when it meets on Dec. 14. But the effort to overturn the election results is all but certain to fail, and has been subject to defeat after defeat in the courts."

And the administration is acting like the certification didn't happen.
The idea that this guy would be less likely to cheat than Biden if he thought it would get him another four years is unsustainable in any rational world.

Remember those mismatches between sign-ins and vote counts? From the Detroit Free Press:
Detroit and Livonia recorded a number of precincts that were not balanced and did not come with an explanation. Of Detroit's 503 Election Day precincts, 85 recorded unexplained discrepancies in the vote totals as did 94 of the city's 134 absent voter counting boards. Most of them recorded discrepancies of three votes or fewer; 10 Election Day precincts and 43 counting boards had larger discrepancies.

“... Michigan Republicans declaring after a White House meeting that they had learned nothing to warrant reversing the outcome in their state.
“We will follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors, just as we have said throughout this election,” Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield said in a joint statement issued late Friday.

Oh this is rich, I heard today that these same two certified the primary which had more and larger discrepancies between sign-ins and votes.
