I have never heard of that site.

But, it comes back to the discussion we have been having here any times before. When does a company lose control over what it wants to have on its servers?

    Should they lose control?

    (I don’t have any answers, only questions! 🙂 )

      "Deplatformed"

What kind of world are we living in where this is seen as an acceptable part of the English language?

      I was only joking

What a whiny snowflake. There are tons of web hosting companies out there, just take your business to one of these other web hosting companies.

If you believe there is a pattern of incumbent tech companies cutting off pro-Trump or pro-conservative contents, here's a business idea for you: set up your own server farms and start providing web hosting services for the pro-Trump, pro-conservative sites that you want to support. If you believe that there are enough people hunger for this sort of content, perhaps you will also believe that there is profit in an idea like this. And you already have a self-proclaimed "$10-Billionaire" in Donald Trump whom you can go ask for seed money. Good luck!

            Same shit, different day.

Why don't you go back to having your kids consider careers as sex workers? Would save you a ton in tuition.😊

I've talked before about social media as the new town hall...Since the internet is a direct descendent of DarpaNet, paid and funded by the American military ( and subsequently the American taxpayer), cannot the case be made that large public social media platforms fall under some sort of fair use clause, for the public good?

I agree. They should probably have some sort of regulation.

It’s called net neutrality. It’s the thing that lets you build that server farms and web hosting services that hosts pro-Trump, pro-conservatism content on the same terms as all others building their own server farms and web hosting services.

Lots of medical advancements came from government funded research too. So single-payer universal healthcare FTW.

If Parler could be good competition and take away some good sized chunk of 72 million people for political stuff I think it could both delegitimize and cut into Facebook revenue streams.

A look at Parler imposing and enforcing some rules on its platform, banning some people in the process. Nothing wrong with Parler having rules and enforcing its rules on its own platform, of course. Just curious to see how it all turns out.
