      And 1400 deaths.

What are the national predictions? A further 60 thousand Americans gone by Christmas, or is it worsening?

In March people raised an unbelieving eyebrow when the Chief Medical Officer grimly predicted up to 20k UK deaths...we reached 50 thousand related deaths yesterday.

It’ll likely be worse than that.

            Biden has a plan.

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

It’ll be too late. This is our worst wave and it will peak and (hopefully) subside before he’s in office.

              You were warned.

Since his plan is very similar to what is already being done, it wouldn't matter anyway.

In a federal system, the feds can supply the resources, but the states implement their own rules. Mandatory masking. California has been one of the more locked-down states. I also think they have pretty high testing numbers.

What else do you think Newsome should do?

That picture shows 300 vehicles. We had 500 cars come through our church’s Drive Thru Trunk or Treat... If the line was 5 times that bad, that’s 1500 people...

No doubt that it’s getting worse she and will continue to do so. It’s also just as bad in European nations with more centralized government that DID have mask mandates and more restrictive requirements.

Honestly, how can this be seen as anything but an abject failure of government?

That depends on your party affiliation.

Change to the other party and poof!

I suppose many of the 245 thousand American deaths so far have been due to COVID complications rather than only COVID, but when you start think about comparisons, the figures are numbing.

The Pacific War with Japan cost the USA something like 120 thousand deaths, an horrendous amount.
COVID deaths are already double that, and yet some Americans wearing flak jackets & semi-automatics are are refusing to wear a mask.
I listened to their reasoning and felt, well, sadness more than anything, especially for their elderly relatives and friends.

I think you are probably right John, worse than 60k american deaths before Christmas.
