Who gets the vaccine?

As the U.S. edges closer to approving a vaccine for Covid-19, a difficult decision is emerging as a central issue: Should people in hard-hit communities of color receive priority access to it, and if so, how should that be done?
Frontline health workers, elderly people, and those with chronic conditions that make them especially vulnerable to Covid-19 are likely to be at the head of the line, but there is also support among public health experts for making special efforts to deliver the vaccine early on to Black, Latino, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander, and Native American people — who have experienced higher rates of serious illness and death from the coronavirus.
“Having a racial preference for a Covid-19 vaccine is not only ethically permissible, but I think it’s an ethical imperative,” said Lawrence Gostin, a professor of global health law at Georgetown University. “The reason is both because of historic structural racism that’s resulted in grossly unequal health outcomes for all kinds of diseases, and because Covid-19 has so disproportionately impacted the lives of people of color.”

I think you target the most at risk (elderly and those with comorbidities) first, regardless of skin color. Then frontline healthcare workers. After that, I have no problems about getting it to ethnic communities at higher risk as the next priority. Of course it will be twisted into the white man using the brown man as a lab rat... Testing new treatments to make sure it’s safe before taking it themselves...
I do wonder about the efficacy of that decision, though. I wonder about getting teachers and students vaccinated sooner to get safely back into schools... That may be best for everyone...

Moderna will be able to make 1 billion doses a year. We don’t know the effectiveness yet but it is based on the same idea and the same platform and “scientists” are very optimistic it will be equally effective.
A mono clonal anti-body was just approved for emergency use and the nasal spray that worked on minks is very promising.
Yesterday Cuomo revealed this is political war.
I trust science. Every day we are going to hear more which should have us in a great place b ythe time Biden arrives.

Would you like to be the political idiot that fought againsf a COVID vaccine?

Back to the original point, could you imagine the fallout if they prioritize PoC in getting first access and there WAS a problem with the vaccine?

Am I a bad person for thinking about the ramifictions of that?

If the antibodies seem to only last a few months, won't we need to have people obtaining the vaccine perhaps as much as twice a year - at least for a year or two?
I thought I read somewhere that this not necessarily the gating issue, something about T Cell memory that matters more?

Listen to Fauci talk about vaccine availability and then go back and listen to Cuomo one day earlier. Cuomo’s true nature is revealed in his thoroughly embarrassing video.

Just talked to my fucking commie brother who says Biden wants to go with WHO recommendations for who gets the vaccine when, where it can do the most good worldwide. Can you imagine the response to that little bit of globalist largesse?
Zeke Emmanuel was co-author of a study from August that says the same thing.

I hope Mr Biden remembers to apologize as he gives your vaccine to a third world person who needs it more than your elderly relatives.

Well, your brother is white and he suffers from immense guilt.
