Run for congress in 22. Probably senate if a seat is open.

Be called Mr. Vice-president the rest of his life.

Unless we can call him President Pence.

There's a place where defeated vice presidents go . . . nobody has ever found it. Nobody cares about them when they're alive and serving, so when they disappear, nobody notices.

There's a theory that they just slowly fade into vapor, and poof, are never seen again. It's like, you're standing in a room with the veep having a conversation, and you turn around to pour yourself a tot, and you turn back, and he's . . . gone.

            This has never been verified.

Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace. – Mike Ditka

Has a vice president who was defeated ever become a president in the US?

I don’t see this being a very good path to become president. If your president was very popular, then you can use this as part of your campaign. However, if your president was defeated, much more difficult.

He was never going to be President. It’s another rhetorical thread. I suppose this will last for a few days. It’s kind of fun watching the kids not listen to dad.

The commander always handled the controls while landing the Space Shuttle.

Just before landing the commander traditionally gave the pilot a few minutes, maybe only seconds, of stick time. Then he would take the controls for landing.

There is still time for Mr. Pence to take the controls should the need arise.

I imagine it would give him a nice boost in his pension if nothing else.

FDR was the losing VP in 1920.

                            I agree she’s a contender and I would think Pence isn’t.

Cruz. Maybe Cotton? Maybe an entertainer like Carlson or Hannity or a Trump kid.

“More than 200 members of staff at Simon & Schuster have signed a petition calling for the publishing house to cancel its seven-figure book deal with former vice-president Mike Pence and commit to not signing any more book deals with members of Donald Trump’s administration.

The petition was delivered to the publisher on Monday, the Wall Street Journal reported. It was signed by 216 S&S employees – about 14% of the publisher’s staff –and backed by more than 3,500 supporters outside the company, including authors such as the National Book Award-winning writer Jesmyn Ward.
                                        ...”

FWIW, I am neutral about whether Simon & Schuster should or shout not publish anyone’s book. Simon & Schuster is a private enterprise and it gets to choose for itself whether to publish or not publish any particular book.
