ShutDown D.C. anticipates that 10,000 protesters from a motley assortment of affinity groups will converge at Black Lives Matter Plaza to engage in “civil resistance” if President Trump tries to “steal the election.

I hope we have someone who can lay waste to that.

Not going to be a civil war. Will there be protests? Maybe, but nothing that will sustain.

          Like the article says:

"But I also wonder if they are exaggerating about the number of demonstrators and insider government forces they have who will actually go through with this."

I would agree with you that protests should not prompt anything close to Civil War in the US, but "sustained" protests is really up to local government. In Portland we had a group of perhaps 100 core people that would sometimes swell to maybe 400-500. But because of the hands off approach of the mayor, these protests continued every day for over 100 days. And that was over George Floyd. When almost half the voting country feels cheated in a Trump victory, it is difficult to say how many will turn out and for how long they continue unless they are stopped.

I'm surprised none of our SF critters around here didn't pick up on the thread title...
