The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

They are not trained to shoot to kill. They are trained to shoot to neutralize the threat. Head shots and the like are the province of Navy SEALs, not city cops.

I think it wasn’t racism that killed him and I suspect the cops didn’t wake up that morning wanting to kill someone.

So why are we burning down cities again?

There were three calls to that address on the day of the shooting. There had been over thirty calls in the last couple of years.

The guy was on lithium therapy. Need I say more?

Crazy man with knife. Cops backing up and screaming at him to put the weapon down.

The only point of debate, is whether the Philly cops had tazers. Not all of the department does.

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

Tasers are "close-in" weapons. Sometimes effective, sometimes not. If someone's wearing layers of clothes, they're marginally effective.

So a guy rushes you with a knife and you hope that your Taser will stop him.

                OK.

If they had tazers, that's about the only alternative to shooting him. And as you said, tazing might not work.

I watched a guy get tazed by 3 different cops and keep on coming. The first one had no effect so another officer tazed him, he didn't miss a step so a third officer tazed him. It had absolutely no effect. It took a police dog to bring him down.

The main problem with a taser is that you use it just like your pistol. It is hard to have a pistol in one hand and a taser in the other. When a guy is closing in on you and your taser you are probably wishing you had your gun instead.
