AFSCME don't like it.

Somebody hasn’t read his 19th century history.
-
Or, maybe he has.
It's not a complete return to the Spoils System. Not even close.
But it does allow a President some control over a segment of his employees who may be trying to fight his policies or initiatives.
-
2.1MM employees subject to firing/hiring with each new president is far worse than the old spoils system.

@jon-nyc said in AFSCME don't like it.:

Then maybe they ought not try a coup on the new boss...BTW, wasn't FDR adamantly opposed to public sector unions?
-
I too am opposed to public sector unions, which are more properly thought of as lobbying organizations.
But I don’t want each new administration replacing 2.1MM jobs.
-
You think each new Administration is going to hire over two million folks?
Nah, me either.
