Last time food prices (at least at the wholesale level) have jumped as much as they will have in 2020.
Reasons? COVID laws and associated costs, especially in California, increased rail costs, decreased number of trucks available thereby increasing truck shipping costs. Labor shortages due to the pandemic, climate related problems for some crops and the Pacific Coast wildfires.
Some foods, such as canned tomatoes, may be in short supply by July 2021.
