Those comorbidities have been recognized for a while.
My question regarding that is whether they are controlled comorbidities or not.

I should have said controlled hypertension or diabetes.
IOW, is someone whose hypertension is well controlled at higher risk?

Well, it seems logical that no hypertension is better than controlled hypertension which is better than uncontrolled hypertension.
But by how much? What's your guess?
