They were easily my favourite books before I stumbled across Tolkien. I read the first one when I was 7, and then discovered the rest a year or so later.
To be honest, I always thought Peter was a bit hard to take. People like him are bloody aggravating in real life. Lucy's much more likeable.
I think my favourite of the series was The Magician's Nephew - it tied up a lot of the loose ends. Like where the hell did the lamp post come from?

Yep, I read about half of 'em. They just didn't personally grab me like Tolkien's stuff did, but they're still great books.
