    In the leg:

In Britain, most police officers disarm dangerous criminals with a sarcastic remark.

Americans don't really understand sarcasm, so I'd be wasting both my time and theirs.

Even assuming the ridicuous notion of being able to aim for and hit a leg in that situation were viable, I doubt it would be much less deadly if at all. Hit the femoral artery and they will bleed out as fast as center mass.

If an officer's life is actually threatened, hitting the suspect in the leg is no guarantee the threat will be neutralized. People who have been hit in the leg or arm are not immediately incapacitated, which is why the police keep firing until a suspect is down. Real life is not like an episode of 24, or a Mission: Impossible movie!

It's true that some police officers are too eager to fire their weapons in the first place, and idiotic police tactics—like no-knock raids—place them in situations where overreactions are likely to occur. But the public policy intervention needs to occur before the shooting starts. Shooting to wound is not a realistic tactic in the vast majority of cases, and it's embarrassing that Biden doesn't know this.

How many guys have you seen with multiple GSW's, that were perfectly capable of bashing your head in?

You negate the threat. That means you shoot it until quits attacking. Sometimes that takes one shot. Sometimes it takes a lot more.

The other problem is that it is very hard to keep a calm demeanor, once you decide to pull a trigger. The adrenaline dump is massive.

There a great video of a (mildy so) SJW trying out a bit of police training when people don't follow commands.

Spoiler alert: He shoots almost every time. When he didn't shoot, he was killed.

They are not trained to shoot to kill. They are trained to shoot to neutralize the threat. Head shots and the like are the province of Navy SEALs, not city cops.

I think it wasn’t racism that killed him and I suspect the cops didn’t wake up that morning wanting to kill someone.

So why are we burning down cities again?

There were three calls to that address on the day of the shooting. There had been over thirty calls in the last couple of years.

The guy was on lithium therapy. Need I say more?

Crazy man with knife. Cops backing up and screaming at him to put the weapon down.

The only point of debate, is whether the Philly cops had tazers. Not all of the department does.

whether the Philly cops had tazers

Tasers are "close-in" weapons. Sometimes effective, sometimes not. If someone's wearing layers of clothes, they're marginally effective.

So a guy rushes you with a knife and you hope that your Taser will stop him.

                                          OK.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
