Maybe it's being woke or maybe the cause is something else...

With the notable exception of The Harlem Globetrotters, I don't think I've ever managed to watch an entire game of basketball.

I like college basketball but only for the NCAA toournament. Never could get into basketball as I was blessed with a football physique.

I haven't watched much professional basketball since it became clear to me that the refs favored certain players and teams. This time around it has seemed like the NBA wanted LeBron and the Lakers in the final and now that is what they got.

I wondered why he walked like John Wayne.

I don’t think it’s political as much as general disinterest this year. I paid no attention to baseball, hockey, or basketball as everything was too screwy. Shortened seasons, weird tournaments, it just didn’t have any appeal.
Think of this, last year at the fifty game mark, the Nats were 19 and 31. They went on a 7-3 run and maintained that pace through the rest of the season and went on to win the World Series. This year they were 19-31, then won 7 of 10 to end at 26-34 exactly the same as last year, but he season ended and they went home in last place. Hard to get excited about championships and playoffs in an altered circumstance.
