I was on the rowing team my freshman year and took an east coast trip to compete against Navy at Annapolis, and also had a race at Syracuse.

    That just reeks of privilege.

    You were warned.

There was a lot of that on the team. Rich kids from east coast private high schools with rowing teams. But I was a second class rower who'd never picked up an oar until I got recruited for the team out of the freshman orientation lines. They were looking for extraordinarily good looking people.

      Education is extremely important.

And in a list of the 100 best pizzas, only two are in Chicago?

I see some selection bias there.

        and none are in Italy.

I've had pizza in Northern Italy. It was like a different food, and in a good way.

Yep. Calling American pizza “pizza” is a textbook example of cultural appropriation.

I don't care much for either east coast or Chicago pizza. Neapolitan and Detroit (Sicilian) style for me.

Never had it. Is it any good?

Also, you should try Salerno's. They're not far from you and they deliver. That's our go-to.

Frozen Cali Pizza Kitchen is pretty good. Certainly better than your average frozen pizza.

HRI is pretty good too. Better? CPK has more interesting flavors.

My bride grew up in Cicero. "Interesting" and " flavors" are not two words that belong together in her vocabulary.

These are far better than the old grocery store type mixes. Get some sauce, cheese, and any other toppings ready. Your kitchen just became your neighborhood pizza joint.

I just had a box of various King Arthur mixes sent to my kiddo. Since we took my old Kitchen-Aid mixer to her in June, she's much more comfortable doing this kind of thing now. She thought the shipment would only have things like mixes for scones, brownies, and gingerbread. The pizza crust mixes were not expected, and she's pretty stoked to use them.

Mom's still got a few tricks up her sleeve to surprise the kiddo.
