The not-so-effective thing about it is there’s so many people it’s hard to remember their names.

For city boys like you and me, that's true. But for the people in the districts they're running in, it's probably easier to remember the names.

Also, I'm anticipating the New York Times' objection to the ad because it said "targeted" at least 5 times. It's an incitement to violence, dontcha know?

I could see it used at an internal conference. Rally the crowd.

If you are not an insider you have no idea what is what other than some War movie where the guy rallies his friends to go back to Vietnam to rescue POWs only they have super powers this time.

I echo Lufin's sentiment. I can't quite make up my mind.

Actually the use of 'target' threw me. At first I thought, having introduced the main guy, the 'target' was the opposition. It was only after a little while I realized she was supposed to be one of the 'good guys' too.

Interesting that no party affiliation was mentioned. That usually means they are worried about net-negative brand equity of the party label.

They're politicians. They and their people can't storyboard worth a damn. Gotta give them a lot of flexibility.

It's just total lack of practice. It's why average people can't write, paint, or sing worth a damn, either. Put in the time and you're fine.

What's funny though is that they're politicians; you'd think they'd be a lot better at it. Clearly they grasp the concept of pretending to be somebody else.
