    Traveling to Cincinnati next week for a few days for my Brother-in-Law’s funeral. Trying to figure out the best housing option. Which would you trust more?

      Sorry for your loss, LuFin's Dad. How's M&M's coping?

      Want your beds made? Hotel.

      If you don't care Air BnB.

      If I travel, I want people waiting on me, and I'm willing to pay more for it.

        @LuFins-Dad, my condolences to you and M&M, sorry for your loss.

        With the pandemic, many hotels don't do you bed on a daily basis anymore.

        Still, I'd say hotel rather than AirBnB.

        I think there is still more predictability, more consistency with hotels, assuming you stay at a name brand hotel. I am sure there are still good AirBnB hosts who do great jobs with excellent COVID-19 prevention protocols, but I am not sure if I can tell the good ones apart from the not so good ones. Hence the bias towards hotels.

          Good point. Even McDonald's, though not the best, is predictable, and there's value in that.

            Very sorry about your brother in law, LD.

            I’d go for a hotel and bring wipes. Open the window for a few hours when you check in.

            I would feel comfortable getting a hotel now if I needed to travel.

            Thank you for your attention to this matter.

              @LuFins-Dad Sorry to hear about your brother in law. 😪

              I agree with the others on hotels.

                Hotel, if you are going to be there for a few days and not spend much time in the room. AirBnB if you are going to want to cook meals, have guests, etc.

                We are staying in a hotel. Loooked at condos but everything right on the beach was sketchy. In a hotel if there is a problem you will usually get it fixed pronto. I also think the santizing will likely be better. If you have a condo and there is a problem you are screwed.

                What part of town will you be in? There are a lot of new hotels up north. At Liberty Towne Center there's a hotek that would be fun to stay at.

                  Now one of Karla’s other brothers is asking for us to stay with them, but between having Finley, Lucas (who will be attending classes remotely), and the dog, I think it would be good to have a place away from everyone else. Especially as there will be some family disagreement...

                        So sorry for your loss. Please share my condolences with your sweet bride.

                        You're absolutely right to have your own space during the stay. There will be plenty of time together anyway, and you will greatly appreciate the separate lodging as a break, and perhaps as a refuge if things get tense. Funerals can do that.

                          Traveling alone -> Hotel
                          Traveling with family -> AirBnB

                          If I travel alone, I don't need the things an AirBnB apartment usually offers, such as multiple beds and kitchen.
