Car Show Today
-
Really fun time today. Just me and the boy, about 200 cars from old Ford Model A's to modern.
Some highlights:
This bad boy has had one owner. He paid 3980 for it in 1968.
Impala, 1970 IIRC:
Inside the hood of a Bel Air. You could stand between the radiator and the grill.
A vette for Kincaid:
Or if he wants a more modern one, the 1986 Indy Pace Car:
This guy has a little nitro boost inside:
DIY cup holder in a '61 Willy:
I think this is an early Chevy:
Somebody put some love into this:
More in another post....

This guy built a model 1950's drive in.
A Caddy. Check out the oars in back of this boat:
Another classic Vette:
A Chrysler New Yorker:
1943 Dodge:
1962 Willys in great shape.
Same guy had a 1931 Model A. He let the boy sit in it

Gorgeous cars! That aqua blue 'Vette has beautiful upholstery - pretty sure it is not stock but I love the dimpled texture.
Took my youngest to a car show last night - it started 15 minutes before sundown and was more of a "cruise in". We got there in the full dark but some of the cars had cool light shows with changing "underglow" lights under the chassis and LED head lights that changed colors too. Way too many modern Mustangs (sponsored by a Mustang club) so some of it looked like a car lot.
About 60-80 cars maybe. But I was really missing my car show fix - went to a regular hot rod show in March and since then almost everything has been canceled.
My favorite was a '65 Ford Fairlane. Somehow adorably boxy, with "patina" paint meaning it was so thin in spots the primer showed through. Much character. Had a modern Mustang motor and 18 or 20 inch wheels.

This was also sponsored by a Mustang club. You can see some in the background in some of the pictures. They tended to keep them off to one side though, I’m guessing there were 20-30 out of the 200. Another dozen or so in the parking lot.

Y'all should head for Detroit some summer for the Dream Cruise. Incredible. Nevers een such a display of Lead Sleds. Made my heart skip a beat.
