He's going after the WHO big time, and by extension China.

WHO definitely seems like it mismanaged its advisories by being too cozy to China.
Dangerous move to pull their funding though - since they do run some pretty good humanitarian programs around the world. Maybe there are other sticks to use before going nuclear.
The irony is a little rich that he's complaining they didn't take it seriously enough.
Also - just like the WHO, Trump wasn't too critical of China just a couple of weeks ago:

China, with at least 4 times the population of the US, supplies about 15% of the funding to WHO that the US does.
Income inequality!
And he didn't pull funding, he suspended it pending an investigation.
And, yeah, WHO probably saves a significant number of lives through their programs. How does that number compare with the lives that might have been lost because of their prevarication? Everyone screams that the administration dropped the ball in understanding of this crisis, and they're silent on WHO because Orange Man Bad.

Also, a lot of blather about ventilator availability. Considering what we're seeing about their possible negative effect, that's not something I'd be proud of at the moment.

A lot of blather period. He's trying to set the stage for recovery. Seems to be working. We're only down 12% now.

We're going to supply vents to a good bit of the third world.
Hide and watch.

Coming back to the topic - I was just thinking.
Isn't it crazy to halt funding to the WHO during a pandemic?
The WHO had tests available and distributed them wayyy before the U.S.
There are legitimate qualms against the WHO, but shouldn't they be hashed out once this crap is under control?

I don't think Trump will defund them cold turkey. I do think he is going to lower funding, while pushing China to do more.
