    alt text,

Like many post-hurricane disasters in this part of the world, people in Lake Charles are settling in for the long haul. We had guys still getting their electricity back yesterday, but many down there won't have power back for months.

The Salvation Army, Samaritan's Purse and other large organizations along with FEMA have certainly helped, but once again, it has been churches across the nation, which have stepped up and provided relief.

I have a FB "friend" who's in the Lake Charles area. He was without power for 10 days. He has a generator in his shed in the back, but a tree fell on it, rendering it useless.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

How awful for folks there. The devastation looks overwhelming.

That's what a Cat 4 looks like. And remember, Lake Charles is 30 miles inland from the Gulf.
