The Best

For those who don't know...
The absolute best artillery in WW2 was American, and nobody else was even close. Because of organization, communication and ammo supply, Americans usually fired twice as many rounds per tube as the vaunted Soviet artillery. And they were more accurate, due to American forward observers and the American policy of allowing front line soldiers to call for artillery support.
Another factor was the fusing of American artillery shells. Both the timed and proximity fuses were the best of the day.
Lastly, the Americans were masters at firing stonks. By varying angles of fire, a battery of eight guns could have as many as 24 shells land on the same target simultaneously.
