So, it's supposed to take place before the original series, Captain Pike just showed up in season 2.

The technology they have seems way more advanced then even TNG let alone the original series.

I mean everything from transporter controls computer interfaces, the spore drive?

    What am I missing?

        👋

It's crap. Total crap. It has none of the joy of the other Trek iterations. Too many plot lines, some of which are patently absurd. I mean, a tardigrade. Really?

        Have you watched both seasons?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Is Captain Pike's language as bad as it was in the original series? He was a real potty mouth.

          I was only joking

@George-K well, it's not my favorite but the technology ans the special effects are awesome.

Some of the things are pretty far out there, I will admit. It's just passing time during the late evenings when I am unwinding.

            Picard is next.

I preferred Discovery to Picard. There are certainly a number of twists to it - but overall, it worked better for me than Picard. I particularly felt the ending of Picard was weak. Neither is up to Expanse.

Expanse is great. Even when I couldn't bring myself to watch it, I could see it was great.

By comparison, Star Trek is like The Kardashians in space.
