Wouldn't solar panels and A/C go together very well? The solar panels produce most power when A/C is needed most.

At a solar power station not obscured by smoke.
Secondly, solar panels on homes that are hooked to a smart meter and the grid (pretty common in California) don't work when the grid is down.

Unless you really need to charge on during peak consumption.
