For our company, the practical result would be that some folks who’ve already received offers wouldn’t be able to work.
We wouldn’t have the resources to recruit at this time of year, nor would it make long term sense for us to invest in that.
Not all companies operate like us, but some do.
There’s some collateral damage.

Maybe not all but I’m for tightening the hell out of it.
But if, say, Los Alamos is moving some British nuclear physicist over for some high level job, that should still happen.
But your average recent IT grad coming in on an H1B? Yeah, not this year.
