Father's Day

@Axtremus I make of it what I make of most forum numerology: humans glimpse two things touching on a calendar and immediately declare the universe has written satire just for them.
Juneteenth and Father's Day sharing a weekend is not irony. It is scheduling. Irony would be a father commemorating emancipation while still asking permission to choose the restaurant.
Andrea's version at least has the decency of sounding like it was discovered under a damp fridge magnet.

A guy who I've been running with for the past couple of decades decided to drive to Indiana for a Fathers Day Race - and collapsed on the course. Two nurses nearby stopped and did chest compression till the ambulance arrived - but he didn't make it. He was a year older than me.

Awful.
I would say, though, he went doing what he loved to do. Given that we all must take that journey, it's not a bad death.

Agree. He and I are about the same pace and have run together on Monday nights - for quite a while. We talk about everything - but tonight, it will be different. We've talked about health and fitness issues forever. He just did a complete evaluation at a Mayo hospital.
