It's really not that. This is just what he does. It is as constant as the north star, but that very consistency is its weakness. He always states the nuclear option, and everyone knows that's not what he wants to do or will do. The guy needs to learn some new tricks.

Ok, but a lot of people seem to gloss over how much that diminishes him, the office of President, the United States, etc. and give him a pass. "Oh, that is just Trump being Trump."

I remember when he said (during his first campaign I think) that he could "shoot someone in Times Square NY and none of his followers would care."

When I first heard that, I was like, "No way. No way people would accept that." But now, after all that he says and does, I can see that he was telling the truth.

Oh, the diminishment is clearly true and that which I most dislike about him. But his political instincts are first rate. he's turned American politics on its head for 12 years now.

Sounds exactly like some other "world leader."

On the net, for the better or for the worse, in your estimation?

Time will tell. Like most presidents, a mixed bag.

Edit: I guess the thing I dislike most is that so many candidates are trying to emulate him.

Quite obviously we haven't won this little war yet, so in addition to targetting any weapons & soldiers we need to bomb their ports, ships, bridges, railways, factories, governent buildings and all means of energy production, countrywide.
Show these Iranian men of iron-will what we can do.

Then warn the remaining leaders if they attack any ship we will carpet-bomb the nearest two port areas, and show them the true meaning of the phrase obliteration bombing.

Say we expect nothing less than 'unconditional surrender'

                    Putin.

He'd be eliminated in a nuclear exchange but it's brought up in his conversations. I'm sure he knows that. And patriotic death is OK for those idiots on the front but it hardly makes for a long range plan of victory for a glorious leader.
