Why not just have 1000's of small drones with an explosive attached to them and guided by AI?

    Probably super cheap.

Fast forward a few years - are billion dollar fighters potentially obsolete?

On a related note has anyone seen pictures of self-driving teslas dodging accidents? It can be pretty impressive and usually outside of the parameters of human senses and reaction time.

AI can also be super dumb and not understand like a simple a faded traffic lane - but in many applications (like military ones) you don't need it to be perfect.

      Ahem...

      "Naval Aviators."

      Carry on.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
