      Can't see this as a bad thing long term. It will be a good thing for recent graduates next year.

          "Early retirement" from something other than a government job must be a euphemism for getting permanently laid off. And a particularly ridiculous and offensive one for those who are thusly "retired".

          Education is extremely important.

            There has to be soe benefit provided by the company,like bridging health coverage, or no one would take it. We would have gladly taken that several years ago had MFR's company offered it.

              Many people don't have a clue how much money is actually needed for retirement.

              Retirement ain't cheap...

                No, but they can also continue to work at other jobs. To determine whether this is good or bad you would have to see the individual offererings.
