I judge public pundits by a different bar than personal acquaintances. But even in the public pundit sphere, the use of libtard as a non ironic word would be a non starter. You may be stuck in Rush Limbaugh territory.

Knobhead is a superior term as it is strictly apolitical and therefore a more inclusionary and diverse term, and I'm sure we all personally know a few. You two doubtless are acquainted with more of them than I am, based on where you both live. Plus of course you both know me.

I would only say this in my defense, in case I have used the word libtard. I would be able to describe such a person in a way that you’d probably leave your kids with them.
