Yes, it's exactly the same at my gym. And the seated calf raises suck they don't train the gastrocnemius.

It's because we're Mr Olympias using far more weight than the padding designer envisioned.

Try barbell hip thrusts. I will never understand how people can do this with heavy weights, even when they add one of these standard round barbell padding things. I do hip thrusts with a machine and add a full 5x10x10in or so padding mat that distributes the load over the full hip and belly. The exhaustion is painful enough, I don't need extra pain.

Yeah, we have one of those. My personal trainer would have me use it back in the day.

I like watching the lovely young women use it. Quite suggestive.

Yep. In my gym it’s mostly women who use it. Latinas.

There's a trainer named Bret Contreras who trains mostly women - and said that he expects his clients to be able to do 20x315 lbs. Many of his clients can do over 400 lbs. I have a hip thrust machine and can only do about 20x150 lbs - on a good and motivated day.

Listened to a long interview with Bret recently. Taught me that females really want big butts.

                      Education is extremely important.
