Here it’s just the new equipment from the last 6-8 months. Previous equipment had both labels.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

Benching 100kg is a much nicer number than benching 225.

Speaking of which, hit a deadlift PR yesterday: 3x150kg. I know, not exactly close to the 510kg world record, but I'm quite happy with it.

That's outstanding, Klaus. You'll have to remember your strength and not beat that piano to death.

By the way Attia warns guys our age about going for deadlift PRs due to injury risk. Squats too. He’s worried about axial load.

He doesn’t quite say don’t do it, but he’s close. Be careful.

Exactly why I stick to the machines.

I use a hex bar for deadlifts and a machine for squats. But even then I’m doing weights where I can do 8-10 reps.

3 reps is the lowest I ever go. I never do singles.

I did have my share of injuries due to squats and deadlifts (such as hernia that required non-trivial surgery). I have become smarter in how to avoid injury.

                        That's impressive, Klaus.

At my gym a lot of the equipment is labeled as designed and manufactured in Italy. And there's some interesting Da Vinci type contraptions, so it checks out. But the weights are still labeled in pounds. I only imagine the shipping. But I'm sure they're disassemblable.

Hex bars are great. I love the more natural grip. But after I've trained straight bar deadlifts with a physiotherapist, I now got the technique down.

I also do machine squats. I lack ankle mobility (but am working on that). This kind of machine is my favorite:

                          6f6c55b7-75a8-4baa-a4b8-f5dda9afcecf-image.png

When I do squats, I do superset them with calve raises (which in turn double as ankle mobility stretches) on the same machine with the same weight. Very efficient training.

Thanks for the idea for a cute Bösendorfer video… I’m going to have the 145lb guy in the store “bench” a 225…

I use that type of machine. In fact you used it here at my gym. I didn’t at the time as I had stitches in my leg.

I like expressing my bike distances in km and my weights lifted in lbs.

                                    Seems more impressive.

I like to say something like "3 klicks down the road". Sounds so much cooler than 3km.

Good idea. Especially since the calf raise machine at my gym hurts my shoulders as it isn't padded enough.

Yes, it's exactly the same at my gym. And the seated calf raises suck they don't train the gastrocnemius.
