Wow, I feel like someone posted a thread last week regarding real legal consequences of these land acknowledgments and the BC Court decision, only to be politely dismissed… Wish I could remember who that was and apologize.

To really follow through the band though must relinquish their claim to the descendants of the continent's animal population. Fair's fair.

City of Richmond has no jurisdiction over land titles. Nor do any other municipalities. Exclusively provincial jurisdiction. No BC government, particularly the current one with a majority of one, will disrupt the status quo of private land holdings and titles in favour of Aboriginal land claims. The BC Supreme Court ruling in any case is by no means absolute- this could end up in Federal Courts as constitutional issue where it will be shot down.

I will not apologize for what I wrote last week on this subject. This is a nothing burger from the get go along with the other BC First Nations claims to what amounts to 110% or more of British Columbia. All this does is distract and stir up unwarranted gossip leading to hysteria and reaction.

          Elbows up!
