    1. We just got out of September. Thanks to the new CBA that prevents two-a-days and drastically reduces the physicality of training camps, teams are woefully underprepared at the start of the season. The reduction of preseason games has exacerbated the problem.

    2. In September, you have no film to really work off of. The week’s preparation and study of the opponent and your own film is a critical component of the game and game planning. There is very little in September.

The whole goal of September is to just get out of there with a couple of wins and know what you need to work on. You will often see teams start hot in September that don’t make the playoffs or fade in the stretch (see Steelers last year or Miami most years) and other teams that start slow but finish strong. Bengals had a slow start last year, but Week 17 you were one of the scariest teams in the league. Don’t give up till Week 8.

Ravens? Their top D tackle is down for the year. 75% of their salary was injured last week with the type of injuries that linger. Their schedule lightens up, but they have an upfield battle.

But I do think Cincinnati ought to consider sending a 6th round pick to the Giants for Wilson.

We traded for Flacco. Just as bad.

This is just Taylor trying to keep his job. I predict it will not help.

FLACCO?! Holy Cow! After I posted Wilson, I had reconsidered and thought about Cousins. Much better than Flacco.

Statistically the odds are better to let them score on 1st down and get the ball back with 40 seconds and Patrick Maholmes to drive 30 yards for the tying FG than it is to stop them on 4 straight plays and wind down the clock. Judging by the lack of effort across the entire Defense, I rather think it was intentional.

Of course you know that Shedeur Sanders just called Jeff Gilooley and Shane Slant and gave them Dillon Gabriel’s address..

Stefanski sounds pissed about the trade and is not committed to Sanders as the backup. Think about it. A rookie definitely needs a veteran presence on the sideline to help. “What did you see?, Why did you …? Next time do …,” This trade just hamstrung Gabriel’s development, it’s clear Stefanski wasn’t prepared for it, and it reeks of owner involvement again, trying to push Sanders to the top of the line.

I think things are about to become extremely dysfunctional in Cleveland.

Things have been dysfunctional in Cleveland since they foolishly let Mayfield go.

I’m assuming the coaches weren’t seeing any improvement from Browning in practice and couldn’t afford Cousins…

So you get someone who is performing worse? Browning was starting to show his old form toward the end of the Detroit game. We've also been playing very tough defenses.
