Before refrigerators existed, people in Russia and Finland would place live brown frogs in milk to keep it from spoiling. Later research found that these frogs release natural antimicrobial peptides through their skin, substances that act like antibiotics by preventing the growth of harmful bacteria. This method helped the milk stay fresh and safe to drink for a longer time.

You’d think that would be necessary in India and Brazil, not so much Russia and Finland.

Yes, I was kind of thinking the same thing. Maybe the Amish use this method and that is why they have no allergies? LOL
